I created my own settings profile with more modest settings which removes the obvious dust but doesn't create edge artefacts. I noticed that Silverfast (SF) tends to use use very aggressive settings in automatic mode which produces edge artefacts.

I've been using the iSRD IR dust & removal function in automatic mode.

Select the folder and file name of the scanned linear file. Select 16bit HDR RAW for black and white film. Choose negative or positive depending on your film. If I scan any of the 12 images with the iSRD on none of the scanned images are saved to the folder in the path field. Check for the following setting in your SilverFast preferences and make sure HDR Raw is checked. If I turn the iSRD off the 12 images appear.

I'm just learning how to get the best out of Silverfast and have the following queries: I installed the latest Silverfast Ai8 update V8.8.Or8 and when I try to prescan slides nothing comes up with the old version I would see the 12 images.
